No matter how much we want to believe that we have been searching for God in our lives, it is in truth that God has been calling us from a very long time ago ~ it is up to us to respond!
If we look back to the Garden of Eden, it was God who called Adam to accompany Him on an afternoon walk in the Garden ~ the beginning of a relationship.
When we look to Abraham, it was God who made the first move and went to him to make His covenant with him.
The truth is that it is always God who initiates the calling and makes the first move in wanting to start a relationship with us. From an afternoon walk in the Garden of Eden to Jesus calling the 12 disciples to Paul being called on the road to Damascus, the calling is clear but it is up to us to make sure that not only do we hear God loud and clear when He calls us but that His call is also heard by those who do not yet know Him.
When we hear God’s call and start our relationship with Him, we begin to believe that He only has good plans for us, as the prophet Jeremiah tells us.
These plans have been laid out for us long ago but the encouraging thought, no matter how difficult they may seem is that we have been made by the creator of the universe and in His image through His Son to do only the good works already laid out for us.
So as we begin to live out our well laid plans prepared for us by the Father, consider Romans 8:29-30 and know that God marked you a lifetime ago and then He decided to create you in His image to be predestined and then called and once called, to be justified but most and best of all to be glorified!
